James D'Damery Obituary

James Douglas D'Damery

Fort Mill - James Douglas D'Damery passed away peacefully on March 5, 2026, in Fort Mill, SC with his family at his side.

Jim was born in Burbank, CA 9/27/1944 and reached the age of 81. He was the son of the late Vaughn W. D'Damery of San Francisco, CA and Dorothy Slavin of Los Angeles, CA. Jim and his wife Patricia Roberts D'Damery moved from Los Angeles to Mt. Pleasant in 1994 where they resided for 30 years. Jim and his wife recently moved from Mt. Pleasant, SC to Fort Mill, SC to be closer to family.

Jim worked for 22 years as the Safety Director of Wando Trucking Company in Mt. Pleasant. Jim loved spending time with his grandson, Chase. He loved people and never met a stranger. He was such a happy person that always had a good joke ready! People were automatically drawn to Jim due to his vibrant personality. His Saturdays were spent with his "car buddies" at Coffee and Cars, his main hobby throughout life. He was up every morning without fail to go out and buy his Lottery Ticket hoping for the Big One! Jim will be missed by all who knew him. He fought a long, hard battle with COPD.

Jim is survived by his wife Patricia Roberts D'Damery and two children; James D'Damery Jr. and Patty Tashjian of Los Angeles, CA, 3 grandchildren; Chase Frierson of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Ava and Jared Tashjian of Los Angeles, CA, 2 Sisters Lynn Ferguson and Cathy D'Damery of St. Petersburg, FL. Jim also leaves behind his brother-in-law, Bob Roberts (Nan), niece, Maureen Roberts (Josh), nephew, Robbie Roberts (Hanna) and several great nieces and two stepdaughters.
