Glen and Gail, I am sorry to hear the loss of your father. Mr. Strickland was such a kind person to me at Ferndale and at Highland Park when I saw him at festivals.
He and my dad, Eddie Mizell, were church friends. When my dad passed away, he was there serving the sweet tea and told me the story of him calling my dad the name sweet tea, because my dad only wanted to serve sweet not unsweet.
So on that day, your dad wanted to serve sweet tea in memory of my dad.
Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.

How could you know Ed and not love him ? He was such a southern gentleman. Whenever we ran into Ed, he always made it a point to remind us how much he enjoyed and appreciated Erma´s mom feeding a group of men from Ferndale who had gone to Olanta on a failed dove hunt. He pointed out the birds were few but the pot of chicken bog had plenty of meat and delicious too. He always found the positive side. He and Nellie, who we love so much, were perfect friends. Our condolences to Nellie, his church family and of course his family.

I have many good memories of Mr. Ed and it was such a joy to have him greet us at the door of church every time we visited. May the Lord bless you his family during these days.
Remember, it is not death to die, but there is more! He is Home!
