Hilda Jefferson Obituary

To the Hutchinson/Mack /Jefferson families, I send my sincere condolences to you on your loss. I was a former student in one of her Home Economics Classes back in the day at Wallace High School. I knew her as "Mrs. Mack." She was so amazing as an Educator, a Woman, and Mentor to so many young girls that came through her classes. She had so much knowledge, skill, and energy for teaching. She taught me how to sew, cook and poured so much into the lives of all those in her charge at Wallace, all while making it fun. And even though I knew her so, so long ago, I'll never forget her. I praise God that He blessed her with so many years!

Hilda was my neighbor on Addison Street during my formative years and she also made my "graduation dress" in 1959 as her "gift" which I will always cherish! After many years away from home, she was one of the first persons I visited upon my return. One of her favorite places to eat was "RYANS" where I would see her enjoying a meal and of course, conversing with others. She lived a long and fruitful life and finally the Master called her home to get her just reward! Our lost is Heaven's gain! Ida Mae Green-Worix and family

My condolences to the family of The lovely, lovely Mother Jefferson. She will never be forgotten. She was full of Grace and a fountain of wisdom. I enjoyed many many days laughing, talking and dining with her and Joy. She referred to me as the daughter she never had. It was truly an honor to bask in her graciousness. May You rest eternally in Heavenly Peace Mother Jefferson.

Sorry for your loss. I will always remember Mrs. Jefferson from St. Andrews high school. She taught home economics. She told it like it was!

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Thank God for the gift of remembrance. May the fond memories of your loved one bring you much peace during this time of bereavement. I have heard so many positive things about Honorable Jackson. You have my deepest sympathy.

Miss Hilda, was aforce to be reconned with. She never lost her spunk or fight. The mind stayed like a steel trap for 93 years. If most of us could accompish half the things Miss Hilda did in life, we would be considered blessed. I happy to say my life has been enriched by just knowing this great lady.

Cousin Hilda. May your soul rest in Perfect Peace. You were instrumental in bringing the Russell Breach family together and we will never forget you.

Miss Jefferson was a kind and gentle soul with dignity and grace. Her friendship will be sorely missed and she will always be remembered in our hearts and prayers.

To the Jefferson family
Clifford and I will always be grateful to our dear teacher, not only did she teach us how to make a perfect seam put 35 years ago on April 28 she directed our Wedding. She was a women of elegance and grace. As a community leader she worked to improve life for those around her, as and educator she will influence the future .

The Jackson Family will deeply miss our dear Cousin Hilda.She was a very strong woman who was totally committed to her family. All our love to you.

A Wonderful Women of Integrity, A Scholar, a community leader and a Women of Class. Since my time of employment with The Charleston Police I have known Mrs. H. Jefferson, and she has always been a woman of standard. To The Jefferson Family you are in my thoughts and prayers during this time transformation for Earth to Heaven for The Honorable Hilda H. Jefferson.

I grew up calling her Mama Hilda, she was a great leader in the community and in my life. You'll be sadly missed.

Dear Hutchinson & Jefferson Families,
Mrs. Jefferson, our teacher at Wallace Consolidated School, was a gem. Speaking as one of her students, she believed in perfection.If you made an outfit and it wasn't fixed correctly fixed, you had to do fix it so that it was done correctly. She taught me how to sew and cook. I'll always be grateful to her in other ways. She played at our wedding in 1969. It is amazing that I picked up my note to call her and say to myself that I was going to send her a Mother's Day card this Mother's Day. I appreciate her for who she was.
Sleep on Mrs. Jefferson and take your rest. We loved you, but God loved you best.

My sincerest condolences to you. Mrs. Jefferson was a wonderful woman. I met her while working at the City of Charleston Police Department. She would often participate when we had our inspections. She will be greatly missed.

She let you know if you NEEDED her she was always there willing to listen to YOU! I have seen her many time at different places, she always remember ME! She even meet my 2 daughters at RYAN'S and told them that I was one of her favor student! The Lowcountry has TRULY lost a legend! Mrs. Jefferson, THANK YOU for always caring about your ST.
