Truly a unique person. He was kind to my husband and I when we visited, he made us feel like family. RIP

Freddy ... my condolences to you and family, your Father was a good man, he was a man of his words and served his community in the utmost respect, he did not see color, he served from the heart of matters, may the Lord continue to bless you and family.

THE JUDGE, I always called you. so much time has passed and I never told you how much I valued our law related discussions. You were kind to my daughter and I, You are a great inspiration and an example of what discipline of mind can do. You will be missed.

I was fortunate to have met Mr. Herbert Fielding during a brief stay in Charleston and recorded an interview with him about growing up in the neighborhood of the Fielding Funeral Home business downtown. He was a gentle man, kind and generous with his time.

A champion for justice, a gentle giant, a humble servant, a warm and wonderful human being. This is how I will remember Mr. Fielding. He was a great supporter of my work to preserve history and we are all better for his gifts. His personal stories of Charleston history were priceless as engaged in planning many events. Charleston has lost a legend, however his legacy will live on. My condolences and prayers to the Fielding family.
