HENRY PLAYLE
The family of Mr. Henry James Playle, age 76, are heartbroken to announce his untimely passing at the Nipigon District Memorial Hospital on December 17th, 2024.

Henry was born on September 29, 1948. He was a volunteer firefighter for the majority of his life, with the Dorion Fire Department and later the Nipigon Fire Department for many years. He was also a member of the Elks Lodge.

He was always a helping hand with his neighbours and friends; from shoveling driveways in the winter, to taking a truckload of garbage to the dump weekly around his block.

Henry met Judy in 1978 and has been part of our family every since, always being affectionately known to all as Papa; he was a great papa and loved us like his own.

Henry never left the house without his hair done in a "Jerry Curl" and cowboy boots on.

Henry will be missed by his step-children: Pat (April) McCool, Debbie (David) Forsyth, Ricky (Joyce) Cordone and Bonnie (Johnny) Dufour; 13 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; as well as many other family and friends.

He was predeceased by his partner of 45 years Judith McCool (2023), his parents Henry and Lily Playle, as well as many family and friends over the years.

The family would like to extend our deepest and most sincere thanks to Lynn and Todd Clearwater, as well as their superhero of a dog Lily, they have been wonderful neighbours throughout the years, always being there when needed, right to the end. A special thanks to Wendy Houston for her dedication, support, and friendship with our Step-Dad. Thank you to the doctors and nurses at the NMDH for their care and compassion during his final days.

Funeral arrangements are in care of Harbourview Funeral Centre. An interment will be held in Spring/Summer 2025.
