Henry Perritt Obituary

Henry Perritt, Sr. MT. PLEASANT - It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Henry Menson Perritt Sr., from Mt. Pleasant, SC, who departed this life on November 10, 2025, at the age of 88. He was born December 23, 1936, in Marion, SC, son of Boyd and Bessie Perritt. Henry owned Henry's Sporting Goods in Mt. Pleasant with his wife Retha. They owned this family business for almost 45 years. One of Henry's favorite things was fishing and enjoying the great outdoors. He enjoyed showing his customers his fish photo albums where he displayed all the fish he had caught throughout his life. This album was one of his most prized possessions. Throughout his career he enjoyed teaching others how to fish, where to go as well as how to throw cast nets. He and his wife enjoyed displaying photos of the fish that the children would catch. He loved hearing their fishing and hunting stories. Henry is survived by his wife, Retha, of 69 years; daughters, Marie (Michael) Schultz of James Island; Diane (David) Dixon of Tennessee. He was preceded in death by his son, Henry (Buddy) Perritt Jr. He also leaves behind grandson, Austin (Kelly) Schultz of Ravenel and three precious great-grandsons: Ezra, Deacon and Hayden Schultz; and grandson, William Perritt of Mt. Pleasant. We will all forever hold him in our hearts. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Bristol Hospice and its dedicated staff for the compassionate care provided to Henry and his family. Also, many thanks to those that have provided love and support throughout this most difficult time. Gravesite burial will be held private with family members. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to your favorite charity in his memory. Henry will be deeply missed, but his spirit will continue to inspire all who knew him. May he rest in peace.
