Gloria Bhagchandani Obituary

Gloria Lyons Bhagchandani SUMMERVILLE - Mrs. Gloria Lyons Bhagchandani, age 68, of 107 Chestnut Court in Summerville, entered into her state of eternal rest on Saturday afternoon, October 17, 2009, following a brief illness at her home. She was the widow of Mr. Ramesh Dayaram Bhagchandani. The relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral services which will be conducted at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon, October 21, 2009, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro with The Reverend Bobby Lee Burdette officiating. Interment will follow in the family plot at Hagan Cemetery in the Buckhead Community of Colleton County near Smoaks. Following the Rite of Committal at the cemetery, there will be a reception held in Mrs. Bhagchandani's memory at Berea Advent Christian Church fellowship hall, 76 Christian Drive, Smoaks, South Carolina. Mrs. Bhagchandani was born April 18, 1941 in Colleton County, South Carolina and was a daughter of the late Walter Dewey Lyons and the late Harriett Susie Myers Lyons. She had a strong work ethic and like the values she instilled into her children, worked very hard to provide the best she could for her family. She was the retired owner of the Country Store and Antiques in Summerville, a company she successfully operated for many years, and was also the retired co-owner of the Sears franchise on the Bells Highway in Walterboro, a business she operated alongside her late husband for nearly ten years until their retirement. Her childhood church, where her membership still remains, was Berea Advent Christian Church and she had also attended Salem Baptist Church in Summerville. Mrs. Gloria possessed an avid love of reading, but her most notable joy in life was spending every moment she could with her grandchildren and family. Surviving are: her two daughters, Karen Strickland of Moncks Corner and Ceci Pefley and her husband John of Goose Creek; three brothers, Howard Lyons of Bamberg, Bobby D. Lyons of Ruffin, and Walter M. Lyons of Ruffin; and three sisters, Lenora Folk of Bamberg, Emmie Sue Hodges of Walterboro, and Nancy Smith of Ruffin. There are three grandchildren, Gavin Pefley, Morgan Pefley, and Molly Pefley that also survive. Flowers will be accepted, or for those that wish, the family has respectfully requested that friends make a charitable donation in her memory to: The American Heart Association, National Center, 7272 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, Texas 75231; or donate at: www.americanheart.org. TO MY FAMILY AND FRIENDS:
(author unknown)

Some things I'd like to say...
But first of all know that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from Heaven where I dwell with God above
Where there's no more tears or sadness, there is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight,
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon, and night.

That day I had to leave you, when my life on Earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and said "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again, you were missed while you were gone
As for your friends and family, they'll be here later on.

I need you here so badly as part of "My Big Plan".
There's so much we have to do to help our mortal man.
Then God gave me a list of things He wished for me to do
And foremost on that list of mine, is to watch and care for you.

When you think of my life on Earth, and all those loving years
Because you're only human, they are bound to bring you to tears,
But do no be afraid to cry, it does relieve the pain,
Remember there would be no flowers unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you of all that God has planned
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on Earth is over,
I am closer to you now, that I ever was before.
And to my very many friends, trust God knows what's best.
I'm still not far away from you, I'm just beyond the crest.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb,
But together we can do it, taking one day at a time.

When you are walking down the street and you've got me on your mind...
I'm walking in your footprints, only half a step behind.
And when you feel the gentle breeze or the wind upon your face...
That's me giving you a great big hug or just a soft embrace.
And when it's time for you to go, from that body to be free...
Remember you're not going, you are coming here to me.

And remember, I will always love you
From that land way above.
We'll be in touch again soon.

P. S. God sends his love!

Karen and Cici,
Gloria was a big part of my life and we shared so many fond memories. I loved working with her at Country Store and Antiques.
The holidays were always a blast. I will miss her loving personality and her lovely smile. God bless you and the family.

CiCi,Karen and family,I am so shocked to hear of your your Mother's death, no sweeter person have I ever known and been so proud to have had her so many years as a dear and precious friend, she gave so much and expected so little in return. She has her reward now, she is in Heaven with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, she was indeed a Christian and I loved her so much, I will see you all Wednesday.

Karen, Ceci and Extended Family,

I cannot begin to express my condolences for Gloria. What a Lady! She was the kindest person that I could ever know. I think of her often and remember, fondly, all the times I used to see her at Country Store and Antiques. I loved to go and see what she had new in the store and the Christmas Open Houses! I will remember Ms. Gloria with smiles in my heart because she was a wonderful person. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you and yours today and in the coming days ahead. Keep all those wonderful memories of your Mom, Grandmother, Sister in your hearts forever. Take comfort in knowing that she no longer suffers and that heaven now has another special "Angel" to watch over all of you. God Bless and Keep each one of you during this most difficult time. Take care of yourselves and each other. If there is anything that I can do for you, all you have to do is call. My special Love to all of you!

v/r,
Tabetha Jenkins (Tabbie)
