Ramesh Bhagchandani Obituary

BHAGCHANDANI, R. SUMMERVILLE, SC - Mr. Ramesh Dayaram Bhagchandani, 65, of 107 Chestnut Court in Summerville, died Thursday evening, January 4, 2008, at Saint Francis Hospital in Charleston. Funeral services will be held 3:30 Sunday afternoon, January 7, 2008, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro, conducted by Mr. Howard Lyons. Interment will follow in Hagan Cemetery in Smoaks. Ramesh was affectionately known by all as Mr. Dani; and was born in Pakistan but was reared in India. Known as a hardworking man, he worked very hard to provide the best he could for his wife and family. For twenty-seven years he worked in the sales department of Sears in Charleston as well as having owned and operated a tailor and clothing store in Orlando, Florida known as Nobel's Fashions. He was the retired owner and operator for nine years until his retirement in June, 2007 of Sears in Walterboro, where he became well known as Mr. Dani and a true friend. He was truly thankful for all those that walked through his doors and will be remembered by all as a Christian Man, for his love and devotion to his family and his love of hard work. Surviving are, his wife of thirty-four years, Mrs. Gloria Lyons Bhagchandani; two daughters, Ceci Pefley and her husband John of Goose Creek and Karen Strickland of Moncks Corner; three brothers, Pishu Bhagchandani of New York, New York, Bharat Bhagchandani of New York, New York, and Prakash Bhagchandani of India; two sisters; Vidya Sam Tani of Chennal, India, and Neesha Mohan Daryanani of Thailand; as well as three grandchildren, Gavin, Morgan, and Molly Pefley. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister. Flowers will be accepted or for those that wish, the family has suggested that memorials be directed in his memory to: The American Stroke Association, 4217 Park Place Court, Glen Allen, Virginia 23060; or donate at www.strokeassociation.org. My dear sweet Gloria, I just read about the death of Ramesh and I am devastated. We have not been in touch but I think of you all the time. Ramesh was a precious man, always with a smile.
