Ervin and Ervina, please know you are in my prayers for God's Peace and Comfort during this time. Your mom was my 6th grade teacher at Edith L. Frierson on Wadmalaw Island. She gave me and many other students the foundation we needed to succeed in middle and high school and ultimately college - paving the way to become productive citizens. I was so honored to see her when she visited Frierson with some of the former teachers a couple years ago. Over the years, I also occasionally ran into her at the bank and we chatted. She was sent by God to be a vessel on the Island and she certainly fulfilled His purpose. Be encouraged and know that she is loved and will never be forgotten as a strong educator in our community.

Ervin, your grandmother and my mother were dear friends and when she passed Gladys and my mother became friends. Gladys was a loving person and a jewel to my family, we will miss her daily.
