Gerald, I still miss you and I still think about you. Your love is planted in my heart. Continue to Rest in Paradise my love.

June 6, 2006

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man."

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

Gerald was a part of my heart and soul. He will forever be with me as long as I live, We had a very special and unique relationship that only God and true friends know and understand, He was a loving "son" to my parents and a loving "brother" to my sisters and brothers he was family and welcomed into the family with open arms. He will always be a part of US. He was taken by Angels to a better place and I know that he is still watching over me. I know that he is missed by everyone but remember him as he truly was a caring and loving person that had a very wonderful life in Georgia with Janet and their God children and "Grandchildren".

I Love You NOW and ALWAYS

Gerald, my first true friend in Georgia.

He was Ross Stores hardest working manager. Work came first, personal life second. When he left the company it was a huge loss. Over the years Gerald and Janet became a part of my family and became my daughter Anjelinas godparents. I could not have made a better choice.

Janet my heart goes out to you. You and Gerald were eachothers life. The love you shared is hard to come by. I remember asking Gerald to carpool with me to a manager meeting when I first moved out here,he politely declined. He didnt want to upset you and I understood. What a gentleman, what respect he had for his love Janet.Hold your head high, we all know what you truely meant to Gerald.

I will miss Gerald and our long talks about work and life. I aspire to have Geralds dedication and be half the manager he was. He is irreplaceable.

With Love, your friend and coworker.

I WOULD LIKE TO ONCE AGAIN EXPRESS MY DEEPEST SYMPATHY TO WHOM I CONSIDER "MY FAMILY". GERALD & I NOT ONLY GREW UP IN MT. MORIAH, BUT HIS SISTER, DORIS, & MY MOTHER, ONETHIA, ARE BEST FRIENDS. WE ATTEND STALL & MORRIS COLLEGE. HE KNEW THAT I DIDN'T WANT TO ATTEND COLLEGE BUT HE WELCOMED ME WITH OPEN ARMS. HE LOOKED OUT FOR ME WHEN I NEEDED TO GO TO THE DOCTOR OUT ON SHAW AFB. MANY BELIEVED THAT WE WE'RE DATING BUT HE WOULD TELL THEM THAT I WAS HIS "COUSIN".. DRIVING THAT SILVER/GREY CRESSIDA OF HIS MADE OTHERS THINK OF OUR RELATIONSHIP AS MORE THAN WHAT IT WAS. I WAS EVEN A BRIDESMAID IN HIS WEDDING. I STILL HAVEN'T REALLY GRIEVED HIS PASSING BECAUSE I'M STILL IN SHOCK. EVEN THOUGH I MAY NOT ALWAYS BE WITH YOU (TONYA), I LOVE YOU, GIRL. YOU ARE & WILL ALWAYS BE MY SISTER. I KNOW THAT YOU MISS GERALD LIKE CRAZY! HE WAS YOUR BACKBONE. NEVER FEAR. GOD KNOWS EXACTLY WHAT HE IS DOING. GERALD IS IN HIS HEAVENLY HOME WITH GOD, ROBIN & HIS MAMA (MRS. JANIE JEFFERSON).. GOD BE WITH YOU & KEEP YOU.. I LOVE YOU!

A poem for my cousin Gerald who I love with all my heart.

For each thorn, there's a rosebud...

for each twilight — a dawn...

for each trial — the strength to carry on,

For each stormcloud — a rainbow...

for each shadow — the sun...

for each parting — sweet memories

when sorrow is done.

I miss you Gerald.

To the Jefferson family, you have my deepest condolences. Gerald was a good friend; he was like a brother to me. Gerald and I got to know each other when we conducted our training in Florida some years ago for Ross Stores. You guys had a great family member. After I decided to leave Ross, Gerald continued on and this guy opened so many stores for Ross. He was definitely a hard worker. Gerald managed by leading by example. He touched a great many lives and he will be missed. Janet (Gerald's fiancée), stay strong. GOD will take care of him now. Gerald loved you dearly and you will see him again.

Even though you may not know me personally, I am sending my condolences and sympathy. I met my "frat" through a community neighbor (Dwan) and found him to be an exceptional young man. My prayer is that God would give you the strength to go through this difficult time. Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. has truly lost an exceptional brother.
