George Kenneth Sweat, Sr. SUMMERVILLE - George Kenneth Sweat, Sr., 84, of Summerville, SC, husband of Gloria Tumbleston Sweat, passed away Saturday, December14, 2024, at his residence. Memorial Services will be Wednesday afternoon, December 18, 2024, at 2 o'clock in Parks Funeral Home Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, PO Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101-9929. George was born June 15, 1940, in Summerville, SC, a son of the late Wheeler Sweat and Ida Bunch Sweat. He honorably served in the United States Army and retired from the Charleston Naval Weapons Station. He loved hunting and fishing. In addition to his loving wife, Gloria, of Summerville, SC, George leaves behind his sons, George K. Sweat, Jr. (Joanne) of Cottageville, SC, and Craig T. Sweat (Dee) of Eutawville, SC; sister-in-law, Theresa Mazell (Allen); three grandchildren, Lacey Sweat of Eutawville, SC, Chase Sweat (Hannah) of Summerville, SC, and Heather Hammock (Chris) of VA; and a great-grandchild, Wyatt Sweat. He is predeceased by his parents, Wheeler and Ida Sweat; three brothers, Morris, Johnny, and Raymond Sweat; and his sister, Hattie Jameson.
