Where do I begin? It is so hard to put into words all of the emotions being felt at this time. "Grief"- something we all handle in different ways...sometimes you just want to be all alone (I know I do), sometimes you just want to stay busy, or just sit and replay all of your memories of the person you are missing. Gary was such a loving person and meant so much to so many of us. His wife, children, family and friends. I think of how I was supposed to be taking care of him now...after having his surgery. Demi dropping him off and picking him up every day. Scott helping me with whatever was needed....Gary giving me those little "wise cracks" and loving every minute of it. But..guess what? God is taking care of him now. And we can all rest assure that he is in good hands now. He is in a place that knows no pain. We can embrace his memories and keep him here with us. May we all be there for his family and friends during this time to comfort them. Gary was without a doubt a "people person". To me.. he was my brother...I couldn't tell someone I lost my friend...he was FAMILY! We will miss him...yet, we will celebrate the life he had. We will always, always be there for his family and friends! OUR LOVE 4EVER

To the family of Gary:

I grew up with Gary in Ewing, VA. He was like a part of my family and since receiving this news, it has been difficult to accept.

I want you to know that you are in my prayers and in my thoughts during this difficult time.

Demi,

As you know Gary and I grew up together and did everything you may believe or not. He was a brother to me and nearly lived at our house to my pleasure. I will miss all our trading childhood stories about Lee Co, how we got to where we are now and how much we both loved and lived for our families. I will miss him dearly and it is a loss I will never forget. We had so much of our lives together at an age that shaped up into men that I am so glad we shared together. You, his Mother Lily, Sister Lisa and his children will be in my prayers and will think of you often as you move on with your life, which I know Gary would want.

Regards,

Chuck Emmette

Dear Gary,

Although I have only known you for a short period of time, it has truly been a pleasure. I will miss all the crazy things you use to say.

I know you are at peace now and feeling no pain, we only wish you could have graced us a lot longer, but I know you are in God's hands now and you are truly blessed. I will be there for Demi, so don't worry about her, she has alot of people that care & love her.

Rest in Peace...Love Liz Cruz 5/05

It's still hard to believe he is gone..I wake up every morning thinking that this bad dream would end, but it doesn't. Gary, was like an uncle to me and he was the godfather of my daughter Alexis Hendricks. Gary was liked and loved by all that knew him. Gary, I love you and I will miss you, know that your wife and children will have plenty of support. To Demi...I love you....my prayers and thoughts are with you and all the family.
