Gary Fairchild Obituary

Gary Lee Fairchild GOOSE CREEK - Gary (Buck) Lee Fairchild, 73, of Goose Creek, South Carolina, husband of Linda Gayle Womack Fairchild, entered into eternal rest January 18, 2024. His Memorial Service will be held 2:00pm, January 22, 2024, in the sanctuary of First Baptist Church of Goose Creek, 141 St. James Ave., Goose Creek, SC 29445. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Gary was born October 6, 1950 in Dayton, Ohio, son of the late Ralph Fairchild and the late Roberta Castle Fairchild. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, worked 35 years in the Civil Service, served his community as a Captain with Hanahan Fire Department and Police officer for the City of North Charleston, but his greatest joy was being a Minister. He was a fanatic about three things in his life the Lord, Clemson Tigers and being with his wife. They were each other's best friend and were often called peas and carrots. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Linda Fairchild; two children, Gary Michael Fairchild (Joann) of Goose Creek, SC and Karry (Brian) Elkins of Goose Creek, SC; five grandchildren: Chloe Harmon, Devon Fairchild, Allyson Fairchild, Madyson Fairchild, Elizabeth Sanderford; four siblings: Larry Fairchild (Marilee) of Florence, SC, Michael Dean Fairchild (Robin) of Paintsville, KY, Ronald Fairchild (Renee) of Moncks Corner, SC, Phillip Fairchild (Annmarie) of Charleston, SC; and many loved nieces and nephews.
