Gabriel 'Gabe' Painter, 22

OKEECHOBEE - Gabriel Painter, of Okeechobee, died Feb. 7, 2009. He was 22. On June 16, 1986, a blessing was born to Mark Painter and Marquita Fruge. He was the best son, brother and friend, to those that knew him could ever ask for. He was awarded Mr. Brahman at his alma mater, Okeechobee High School. He was a member of the class of 2004 where he was captain of the football team. He worked as an air conditioner and refrigeration repairman and accountant. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Joe and Bea Painter, and Cormet Fruge. He is survived by his father, Mark Painter; mother, Marquita Fruge; paternal grandmother, Della Walker; sister, Shannon Mariah Burch of Ragley, La.; three brothers, Michael, Zachariah "Zack" and Ezekiel "Easy"; girlfriend, Jade; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Bass Okeechobee Chapel. Memorials may be made to Seacoast National Bank in the account for Marquita Fruge for Gabriel Painter.
