I knew the CAPT from work. I was his NJROTC liaison at NJ Headquarters and lucky enough to see first hand the great work he did for our youth and nation. He made a huge impact on thousands of students during the course of his second career, NJROTC Instructor. He also had a stellar active duty career leading sailors and inspiring service members around the world. Condolences to the Massey family. We have lost a true superstar and gentlemen.

So sorry to hear of the passing of Captain Massey. I met Captain Massey through the JROTC at West Ashley High School. My son Tommy had Captain Massey for 4 years and he was so instrumental into Tommy’s career in the Navy. Tommy was sworn in at South Carolina ROTC by Captain Massey and Sir you did a great job as he is now a Captain in the Navy. Tommy unfortunately won’t be able to attend as he is currently serving in Stuttgart, Germany. I remember on one trip home Captain Massey, Chief Cool, Tommy and myself did lunch and it was so much fun listening to them reminiscing.
