He was born in Oakville, CT, to Frederick William Daniels, Jr., and Beatrice Windebank Daniels. After graduating from Sacred Heart High School in CT, Fred attended The University of the South in Sewanee, TN, where he was honored to serve as President of Sigma Nu Fraternity for two years. Upon graduating from Sewanee, he pursued a career in teaching and administration at The University of the South, followed by the Educational Testing Service in Princeton, NJ, and Duke University in NC.
