Frederick Bolchoz Obituary

Frederick William Bolchoz III MT. PLEASANT - Frederick William Bolchoz, III passed into eternal life on Monday, September 9, 2024. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the graveside service on Friday, September 20, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Holy Cross Cemetery on James Island. Fred was born on September 14, 1939 in Charleston, South Carolina to Frederick William Bolchoz, Jr. and Mary Pendarvis Bolchoz. He is predeceased by his parents and sister, Grace Bolchoz Rush. He graduated from Bishop England High School and received extensive training in the automotive business. With his big smile and personality, he was an award winning car salesman for almost fifty years. Fred also served in the United States Army and the Army National Guard. Above all, he was a mariner and first class sailor. His love of Charleston and the surrounding waters ran deep in his veins. Fred was very knowledgeable about the history of Charleston, and was deeply interested to discover he was descended from a mariner on his father's side, and one of the early settlers of Charleston on his mother's side, the Pendarvis family. He is survived by his sister, Janice Bolchoz, former wives, Dolly Taylor and Charlotte Geraty, two sons, Leonard Tant and Ernest Tant, and daughter, Lyndee Simoneaux. He made many lifelong friends to include Bill Durham, Clyde Burris, Dave Van Cleef and so many more. We will cherish our adventures with Fred, who loved us so, as we loved him. In lieu of flowers, please consider planting something in your garden or another meaningful place in his memory.
