Fred Turner Obituary

Fred DeLeon Turner, Sr. N. CHARLESTON - Fred DeLeon Turner Sr., age 92, of North Charleston SC entered into eternal rest on Friday, March 13, 2015. He was born in Bishopville SC to the late Pinckney and Maddie Turner. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was a Mason (Fellowship 400) and Shriner. He served his country in the United States Army Air Corp in Europe during World War II. He received 5 the American Theatre Campaign Medal and 5 Bronze Stars. He was the owner of Turner Supply Company for over 24 years and later owned Turner Knife and Sword Company. Mr. Turner is survived by his sons: Fred Turner Jr of North Charleston SC, and Rick Turner (Lorrie J.) of Statesboro GA; grandchildren: Lauren T. Balding (Cameron) of Statesboro GA, and Taylor Turner (Ashley) of Rincon GA; great-grandchildren: Kinley, Ella, and Harper; sister: Jeanette Melton of Bishopville SC. He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years: Ethel Turner, and 3 brothers. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, March 17 2015 at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, 7113 Rivers Avenue, North Charleston SC 29406. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday March 17 2015 from 1:00 PM until the hour of service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in honor of Fred Turner Sr. to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 950 W Faris Rd Greenville, SC, 29605. Dearest Pop Pop,

You will be missed by so many. I am so Happy that you were intertwined in my life so we were family. I know Heaven has not been the same since you arrived...What a celebration of Life!
Joshua and I will love you always and remember the love, support, and True Joy that you brought to so many. You set such a great example for others to be selfless; to do for others enjoy your life here and now.
