May God continue to comfort the family, hold dear and near the memories that you shared with your beloved one. God pick a rose from the Garden and said well done. I pray that the love and comfort of each of you will ease the pain of your loss. Look to the hills from which come your help and your help comes from the LORD.

I met Fred years ago as a youngish lawyer. He was unfailingly friendly and supportive. He had a real interest in the justice system, and a strong personal sense of justice. We were lucky to have him at the courthouse all those years. He was a fine man, and his family has my most sincere condolences. Allan Holmes

Will miss him dearly! He was a very positive role model for me and my children when he lived on Kenilworth Avenue in the city of Charleston. He may be gone from us in the flesh, but he left a loving glowing flame of what he stood for and accomplished for all of us in our hearts! He is resting in our fathers arms now so we need not worry about him but hope that we too can meet him with the Lord one day.
God bless,
Hazel Bonaparte-Simmons and Family

Fred was a strong man who did not tolerate foolishness. I worked with him at the Federal Courthouse. I learned a lot talking to him especially about local history. His perspective was both interesting and candid. God rest his soul because he lived through very trying times and still remained a true gentleman.

Winnie, Greg, and your dear family,

Mike and I were very sorry to hear of your father's passing. Our thoughts and prayers, and those of so many others who knew him, are with you at this sad and difficult time.
Your father was blessed with so many wonderful experiences and a long and meaningful life. I know in speaking with Greg over the years, they had a very special bond. You must feel blessed as well to have had him a part of your life for so long.
Our faith tells us that God is showering his blessings on you at this very moment as well. The Bible says Blessed are they that mourn for they shall be comforted. I pray that you will find peace and comfort in these words and that God will give you the strength and courage to go on.

God Bless You, Greg, and your wonderful family.

Yours In Faith, and with a big hug,

To the Strobel Family it is with a sorrowful heart that we mourn the lost of your beloved family member. My husband (Ernest Banks Jr.) speaks so highly of him and what he meant to his family and community and how he embraced the idea of It takes a Village mantra in his life and service to all that he came in contact. Know that his good deeds and works will live on and God is smiling and he heard him say Well done my good and faithful servant, Well done.

To the Stroble Family, GOD bless you in this time of loss. I met Fred in 1968 when I moved back to Charleston and started working at South Carolina National Bank. His Father Reverend Stroble brought him into the bank. He had just started on the police force for the city. He and I became Good friends and have continued our friendship over these many years. Fred was a Gentleman, Kind beyond measure. You find a friend like this once in a lifetime. I know you will miss him and I will miss him also. Rest in Peace my Dear Friend, You have earned your crown. Much Love Olivia.

I met Fred Stroble when I started working for the Probate Court in 1977. He was always smiling, and had the most pleasant personality. I can see him now, along with Alfred Finley (also deceased), "cutting up" in the post office on Broad St. Family, take solace in knowing that he is in a better place.

I first met Fred when I was a young Charleston lawyer and he was a Dep. U.S. Marshal working out of the U.S. District Courthouse at Meeting and Broad. I was specializing in maritime law with my firm (then Buist Moore Smythe & McGee), which involved occasionally having the Marshal's Service "arrest" (seize) vessels pursuant to court order. In my first "vessel arrest" case, Marshal Stroble was assigned the task of carrying out the court's arrest order, which he did swiftly and effectively. Indeed, I was so impressed with his efficiency, and his courteous and friendly manner, that I made a point of asking that he be assigned on all future vessel arrest cases I handled. As a result, Fred quickly became known as the "vessel arrest expert" in the Marshal's office.

Fred and I remained fast friends throughout the balance of his career. He was one of the finest gentleman I had the pleasure of interacting with during my years of practice. I very much suspect that he is now serving as one of the Lord's Marshals faithfully guarding the Pearly Gates.

RIP, Fred. God Bless.

Our prayers and thoughts go out to the entire Stroble Family. Fred and my uncle worked together as detectives with the City of Charleston in the 60's. I met Fred while working at the old Charleston County Emergency Room in 1966 and I have considered him a dear friend forever. I really owe him my life there at one time. Even though married now for 45 years and living in NC, I read the Post and Courier every day online. I have admired the entire Stroble family every year posting a Memorial on the Post and Courier for all their family members. It showed me all of you were a very close family. God has taken Fred home to a much better place but you will always have the memories to share, something no one can ever take away from you.

Love You Fred, RIP

I knew Fred back when I was working for the County and Fred was working for the Federal Government. We met up occasionally on Broad Street, and I always enjoyed our conversations. He was so very well thought of and a good man. He will be missed. My sincere condolences to the Family.
