Fred Edwards Obituary

Fred Edwards N. CHARLESTON - Fred Edwards born 5/15/45, the precious husband of Bonnie Willcut Edwards, earned his wings at home with his loving family on 11/19/17. He leaves behind his three children, Patrick Edwards (wife Mischel), Faith Adkins (husband Milton) and Hope, along with 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Fred had a great love for Elvis Presley and his music. He shared this love by going to assisted living nursing homes in the TriCounty area for several year, he would dress up like Elvis and sing his songs, pass out bears & scarves and let them know that Elvis may have been the king of rock n roll, but the real KING is Jesus Christ. He grew up in the Dorchester Waylyn area until he joined the Army in 1962. He was the son of John & Ruby Edwards and had three brothers. While in the Army, he met and married his wife of 50 years (Bonnie Willcut). He loved to travel and go on cruises. Just this past OCT 2017, he was able to fulfill his longtime wish of having all his kids join him on a cruise, as we celebrated his 50th wedding anniversary. Shortly after returning home, his illness wore him out and during the evening of 11/19 he went home to be with Jesus for his final rest with his wife and family by his side.
