Frances Tanner Obituary

Frances Garner Tanner MEGGETT - Entered into the arms of our Lord on February 12, 2011, Mrs. Frances Beatrice Garner Tanner, widow of Otha "Doc" Dallas Tanner. Residence, Meggett, SC and formerly of Charleston, SC. The relatives and friends of Mrs. Frances G. Tanner are invited to attend her funeral services on Tuesday, February 15, 2011, at Ashley River Baptist Church at 11 am. Burial will follow in Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL. Mrs. Tanner was born April 30, 1921, in Charleston, SC, a daughter of George Franklin Garner and Amanda Batson Garner. She was a graduate of North Charleston High School. She was a member of Ashley River Baptist Church, Easten Star Loyalty Chapter #136 where she was the pianist for many years, Daughters of the Nile and Micha Temple. She was a retired sales clerk. She is survived by her son, Theodore "Teddy" Calhoun Tanner, Sr. and his wife, Linda F. Tanner of Meggett, SC; two grandsons, Ted Tanner, Jr. and his wife, Tiffaney of Hollywood, SC and Tim Tanner, Sr. and his wife, Diane of Charleston, SC; two granddaughters, Cathy Tanner and Susan Tanner, both of Atlanta, GA; three great-grandsons, Ty Tanner and Steven Tanner, both of Charleston, SC and Thomas Tanner of Hollywood, SC; one great granddaughter, Tallulah Tanner of Hollywood, SC. She was predeceased by a son, Otha Franklin Tanner of Charleston, SC. Memorials may be made to Ashley River Baptist Church, 1101 Savannah Highway, Charleston, SC 29407 or Serenity Palliative & Hospice Care, 12-B Farmfield Avenue, Charleston, SC 29407.
