It was one of the honors of my life to work with Eric in the Marshall Islands. He was a humble man and you really had to get him to talk about his experiences. I dove many dives with him and he was a hoot. Jim Cook. 321 276 1734. [email protected]. Good man and a true hero. I am blessed to know him.

Eric and I became friends in Karachi, Pakistan in the 1970s when we were both there on missions to help the country recover from a flood. Later I visited him in Okinawa in his home and carried messages and gifts to him family in Summerville. In later years we kept encountering one another at various places in Charleston. Of late I told my wife that I should try to locate him. He found me first with his obituary. Eric was a personable and interesting person first, but he was also a patriot and warrior. He dedicated his life to his country.
Please know that our sympathies are with his family and loved ones in this time of loss for you and all who knew and loved him. We will miss the chance to be in his presence.
