Butch,
I ran across one of the original match box from eejays. I worked there from 1979 until 2000. Please contact me if you would like this and some other memorabilia. Love, Wanda (803) 564-6471

Warm Summer Sun
Warm summer sun,
Shine kindly here,
Warm southern wind,
Blow softly here.
Green sod above,
Lie light, lie light.
Good night, dear heart,
Good night, good night.

I attended Workmore School in the middle of Telfair County (GA) and Elvin was one of our classmates. Elvin, being older, taught me much about basketball as he was an excellent basketball player. He also helped me with Algebra as we waited for the team bus to arrive. He even helped me make a better "J." He was certainly a great friend and I bet a lot of folks can say the same thing! He picked up interesting nicknames - in our school we called him "Elbow." He will always be remembered as a person who made a difference.

Eejay was like a second father to me. I loved him like my own Father!!! The moment I meet him I knew he was a kind man I just never knew that I would have such a special bond with him. I could go to him with anything! I worked for Eejay for 8 years and over that time we became very close. He was also very close to my whole family. He played golf with my father(that is in Heaven) as well as my husband and they had the best time. He was such an amazing man and I am so blessed that I was able to be part of his life. I love you muches Eejay!!! I wish that you were here still so you could meet my son and I had a chance to say goodbye!!!

There will never be another "EJ". EJ was such a kind, loving and gentle man. He had a true servant's heart, helping so many people along their way. People came from miles away, not only to enjoy his food but to fellowhip with a friend. He was never too busy to sit and talk with friends. I will miss him, but I am happy he is in a better place.
