Eleanor Powell Obituary


POWELL, Eleanor Eleanor Baughman Powell, 74, of Port Wentworth, Georgia, died Monday morning, July 25, 2005 at her residence. Mrs. Powell was born February 5, 1931 at Chaplins Landing, Rantowles, SC. She was the daughter of the late John Robert Baughman, Sr. and Rosalie LaVenia Chaplin Baughman. She was a graduate of St. Paul's High School and the Medical University of Charleston. She was a registered nurse and devoted many years of her life to the unselfish care of others. She was of the Baptist faith. Her family was her greatest source of enjoyment. She is survived bythree daughters, Ilona Baldwin of Summerville, SC, Deborah B. Hammond-Watkins (Mark) of Port Wentworth, Betty Jean King (Timmy) of Brooklet, and two sons, Emerson Baldwin (Cindy) of Greenpond, SC and John Powell (Beth) of Savannah, brother Ralph Baughman of Rantowles, SC, 7 grandchildren, Christina and her husband Ty, Michelle and her husband Brian, Samantha and her husband D.J., Jessica and her husband Frankie, Sara Beth, John Thomas and Emily Catherine; five great-grandchildren, Skyler, Ryker, Dalton, Courtney and Morgan. She was predeceased by a brother, John Robert Baughman, Jr. A graveside funeral service will be held Friday, July 29, 2005 at 11 o'clock at Chaplin Family Cemetery, Johns Island, SC. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Coastal Regional Center, 9995 Miles Jamison Road, Ladson, SC29456. Arrangements by James A Dyal Funeral Home, 303 South Main Street, Summerville, SC.
