Efrain Guingona Obituary

GUINGONA, Efrain Efrain "Butch" Guingona, age 68, of Hanahan SC died Tuesday, October 10th2006 at a local hospital. He was born in Manila, Philippines on May 28th1938 to Efrain Guingona Sr. and Janet Chester Guingona. Mr. Guingona served his country in the United States Navy, retiring as a Career Counselor after 22 years service. He loved fishing and cooking. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather and will be missed by his family and many friends. Mr. Guingona is survived by his wife: Patria Alfafara Sarmiento Guingona of Hanahan SC; daughter: Pura Beckett and husband Michael of Atlanta GA; sons: Christopher Guingona and wife Jackie of Goose Creek SC, and Charles Guingona and wife Heather of Summerville SC; brothers: William Guingona of Chicago IL, Charles Patrick Guingona (Laura) of Ontario Canada, Michael Guingona (Leonor) of Virginia Beach VA; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brothers: Jack (Dina) and Bobby Guingona. A Memorial Mass will be held at 12:00 PM Saturday, October 14th2006 at Divine Redeemer Catholic Church, 1106 Fort Drive, Hanahan SC 29406. Inurnment will follow in Carolina Memorial Cemetery.
