Edwin Robert Tompkins, Jr. N. CHARLESTON - Edwin Robert Tompkins Jr., 78, of North Charleston, SC, husband of Lorraine G. Tompkins, died Sunday, April 20, 2014. The family will receive friends on Tuesday April 22, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in J.HENRY STUHR INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Road, North Charleston, SC 29406. Edwin was born March 16, 1936 in San Pedro, California, the eldest of four children of the late Edwin Robert Tompkins, Sr. and the late Lucy Rita Godleski Tompkins. He retired from Jersey National Wine and Liquor where he worked in accounts receivables and logistics. He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion as well as the Fleet Reserve. He is survived by his wife Lorraine G. Tompkins; son, Patrick Tompkins of NJ; daughter, Elizabeth Kaiser and her husband Tim of Ladson, SC; son, Mark Tompkins and his wife Rose of North Charleston, SC; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
