I had the distinct pleasure of working with Mr. Wiseman as our FAA representative to Pope AFB Tower from 1995 - 2001. He was a font of wisdom, a respectable man, and someone I will recall with great admiration. He was definitely an icon in the Air Traffic Control community.

Condolences to the Wiseman family. I worked with Mr. Wiseman for a short time in 2003 at Shaw AFB. He was well appreciated for the work he did and the help he gave to controllers leaving the military continuing their careers. He did so much for air traffic, he will be sorely missed. BW

I knew Mr. Wiseman from Shaw during the 4 years I was there. Never have I met a nicer, more knowledgeable man in my entire time in the AF. He is truly missed. Always had a big smile for everyone he talked to, and always had an open ear and heart when I needed to get away from the military side of things. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family, and I know that I am that much better of a man just for having known Mr. Wiseman. Thanks for teaching me all that you did. Rest easy, Mr. Ed, we'll meet again.

I have also known Mr. Ed since 1990, when I first came to Shaw AFB. I worked with him almost daily from 1994 up until his retirement. I have never known a better man, a more astute professional, nor a greater source of wisdom. He was both my friend and confidante. I can never repay the gift of wisdom or friendship that he bestowed upon me personally.

God Bless Mr. Wiseman, and God Bless his family.

To the family of "EJW"

Ed Wiseman (I called him "EJW") was the most honest and fair person I have ever known. It is because of his leadership, guidance and teachings that I was able to enhance my career in Air Traffic. I met him at MYR when he selected me as the Automation Specialist. Trey, I thank you for allowing me the opportunity to talk to your dad not long ago. I will forever remember and cherish that conversation with him. May God keep his loving arms around you all.

Dear Family, It is with great hurt that today I learned of Ed's passing. Over the past 40 years that I knew and worked with Ed we had a very special friendship, we shared the knowledge that we were only a phone call away. He was so proud of his family. He was such a fine honest person that helped so many. I only hope they have a special "Disney World" in heaven.I will miss him deeply.

I have lost my mentor and my friend. It hurts that I will never be able to speak to or see Mr. Wiseman again. My sorrow is just a fraction of the grief his family must be feeling at this time. He was truly a great and genuine person. I admired him and looked up to him like a father. He will sorely be missed. Godspeed Mr. Wiseman; we will meet again.

My wife and I had the opportunity to work with "Mr. Ed" for almost 10 years at Shaw AFB. What a great friend he was to both of us. He was one of the good guys and will be missed by everyone who ever had the privilege of knowing him. He had a great sense of humor, and was a source of Air Traffic knowledge that could be relied upon by us. We will truly miss his friendship.

I had the distinct pleasure of calling Ed friend ever since we first spoke almost two decades ago. When we finally were able to meet in person it got even better. Through all these years it was absolutely apparent to me that he was the kind of gentleman you'd want around and on your side through anything. I will miss him and treasure forever the memories we shared. My best to Sue and the boys. He will be missed by more people than you can imagine and we share your sorry.

I had the pleasure of first meeting Ed Wiseman in Jan 1990. I can truly say I've never known a better man, both professionally and personally. He was that rare person of absolute integrity who always did the right thing; he was an American patriot who was dedicated to his country and who truly cared about those he worked with, and this was reflected in turn by the way we felt about him. He will be missed very much.
