To the family of Ed Ripley,
You have been in my thoughts and prayers and I am so sorry for your loss. I began working with Ed 4 years ago and I am honored that I was able to work with him. I miss speaking with him as he always made me laugh with his sense of humor. He always had a way of finding the good in a bad situation and was always upbeat and positive. God be with all of you and comfort you.

I only knew you here for a short while Ed, but it was all quality time. You are just as you said, a gentleman. A very funny gentleman.
I will see you again, one day, I am sure.
May God hold all of your family and friends in His loving arms and give them peace and joy.

Our deepest sympathy to the entire Ripley family. Hank and Shannon, we have never met but have known your dad's family for over 50 years. Wayne, Debby, my wife Patsy and I all graduated from high school together. Ed, Junior and Wayne were all 3 of the finest young men you could ever meet. Reading about his life he never lost his comical personality and maintained being a sincerely nice person. Evelyn, our thoughts are with you in the loss of a son. My mother experienced that loss and I lost a brother and we know how difficult it is. I am sincerely sorry that I could not be at the service due to circumstances I could not control. Wayne has always been there for me and I will always regret I could not be there Monday but you all were in my thoughts and prayers.

Miss Evelyn, Wayne, & Jr.,
I was shock to see on Facebook about Ed's death. Miss Evelyn, I can't imagine your pain. I can think of nothing worse than to loose a child regardless of age. Growing up in Mathews Ed always had a smile for everyone and a friend to all he met a trait that he kept throughout his life from what I read in these postings. Please know you all have my deepest sympathy and are in my thoughts and prayers.

Evelyn, George and Wayne: I just learned of Ed's passing. I am deeply sadden. I haven't seen Ed in many years but often thought about Ed and cherish knowing him as a classmate, friend and team memeber of differnet athletic teams. He was a special young man and sounds like he grew up to be an exceptional man. My prayers are with you all, his wife and children.

Hank & Shannon: Your dad and I graduated from Mathews High School together in 1968. Although we were in touch only a few times over the years through classmates and reunions, I will always treasure his friendship. His quiet manner and quick humor are what I will remember the most. Cherish the good times and all the memories.

Shannon and Hank,

I met your father 20 years ago when he worked at Ashley Printing. We became friendly quickly because he was so nice to me. Soon after, my husband got to know him, as well. We have been business acquaintances and friends ever since. I always knew who it was when your father called, despite the fact that he never identified himself. His opening line was always funny, which, in and of itself, is rare. As his friends said at the service yesterday, he was self deprecating and comical. But, he was also kind, civic minded and spoke of you with love in his voice. We have been out of town for the past two weeks and did not know he was ill. I am very sorry we did not get to visit with him in the hospital. His memory will always warm our hearts. Please know our prayers are with you.

To the family & friends of Ed Ripley: Ed was our companies' printing representative for over 20 years. He was conscientious in his work and always went that 'extra mile'. In all of those years, he never failed to make my co-workers or myself smile, no matter how our day had been going. That is a rare gift. He will be truly missed. Connie C. Kern
