Earline Rodeschin Obituary

Earline Drake Rodeschin RALEIGH, NC - Earline Drake Rodeschin entered into eternal rest on the evening of September 16, 2014 at her home in Raleigh, NC, she was 88 years old. Earline was born on August 16, 1926 in Hendersonville, NC to Cordie J. Thompson and Arthur O. Drake, both also from Hendersonville, NC. She graduated from North Charleston High School in 1943, and married Severin Henry Rodeschin from Newport, NH on September 30, 1944 in North Charleston, SC. Earline worked at the Charleston Naval Shipyard from which she retired in 1975 - retirement offered her, and her husband, Henry, the opportunity to travel in their Airstream all over the United States - they spent most winters in Punta Gorda, FL. while many summer vacations were spent traveling with their grandchildren. Earline loved to travel, knit, paint, and play bridge - she was constantly on the go enjoying her retirement. Earline is survived by her two daughters - Donna Filosa of Crofton, MD, and Denise Barlock of Raleigh, NC; four grandchildren - Devon Simmons of Goose Creek, SC, Wendy Ulatowski of Victor, NY, Stephanie Barlock of Raleigh, NC, and Michael Barlock also of Raleigh, NC; two great-grandchildren - Scott Henry Ulatowski of Victor, NY, and Scarlett Diane Ulatowski also of Victor, NY; many nieces and nephews across the country; and the many friends she made through camping and the camping clubs to which she and her husband belonged. Earline is preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Henry, who died in October 2001, her daughter, Diane, who died in September 1973, her parents, her sister, Mickey, and her brother, Arthur. The services for Earline Rodeschin will be held on Wednesday, 1 April at Carolina Memorial Gardens at 1:00 pm inside their facilities with the inurnment to be held afterwards graveside.
