Earl its hard to believe that it is over, us here together. We grew into something so strong that it was hard for either of us to believe that it was real. It was stranged how I remembered Keon from when we were younger but it didn't dawn on me who you were. You were my best friend hands down and no one can take that away from us. In the times that we have shared have been wonderful and I will treasure those for the rest of my life. I just wish that we had a little longer to fulfill the dreams that we had set for ourselves. When you left me on Saturday night and told me you were going to your families house, I told you "Okay, Well I'll see you when you get back", and you gave me a hug and said " I Love You Lil C." I never thought that would be the last time I would hear those words from you, but I'm here to tell you Earl I LOVE YOU TOO!!

And to Mrs. Verna, Kendra, Kory, and his children he spoke so fondly of all of you. Family was a big thing to him and he loved you all. Everytime I would work up the nerve to meet Mrs. Verna (who he called his backbone) I would chicken out, and I truly do apologize that we had to meet due to these circumstances. I send my prayers and condolences to all of you because we all have truly lost someone very special.

Now that I look back on what Earl and I had, and from us being around the same area never noticing one another and then we became the best of friends. I look at it as God sent me to him to try to help him through his troubling times, and I tried. But god saw fit that it was his time.

As I read all the beautful entries to you and your family, it keeps reminding me how special Earl really was. It just won't be the same anymore without seeing his face and him not walking by my mothers house and saying "Hi Mrs. Washington how are you doing". She really loved Earl and he gave her nothing but respect. There are alot of people who's hurting now, but with the grace of god we will all be able to get through this. He is now an angel above watching over all of us. God Bless you and your family.

June 6, 2006

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man."

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

Deepest sympathy to the bereaved family. It was just Saturday that we shared a laugh in "the Lane". I remember when Earl started hanging around in my neighbor and we all became good friends. I remember at one time if you saw Keon, you saw Earl, now you are both gone in the physical from us, but two friends back together again. You will be missed, you were a sweet guy...To the family,Stay in prayer and the Lord will see you through..

I met Earl some years ago at the gas station a few blocks from the #1 hang out spot, Da Lane. I was pumping my gas and being the sweetheat that Earl is he said,"Let me handle that for you." That was my buddy ever since... It seems like yesterday we were all going out and chillin cracking jokes about everyone. He and I always seem to be on that same level even though we had our differences but "we" both know we always had and always will have love for each other. I say to the family don't think of it as a lost but as a blessing becuase now no one has to worry about Earl(EZ)anymore. He is sitting high and looking below every minute and every hour. Stay strong and remember that God will never put more on us that we can bear! God Bless You!!!

I want to express my sincere condolences. Earl and I were best friends growing up on Morningside Dr. The day the Allen family moved from the neighborhood, I felt like I had lost a brother. We shared a lot of fun filled moments together and of course some dumb ones as well. I so often wish we could go back and relive those moments. Despite the fact that our lives took us down different paths, I never forgot my friend, my brother Earl. May god bless your family and embrace them tightly during this time of sorrow.
