He cherished time spent in the mountains, especially at Kamping Kountry Campgrounds in Maggie Valley, and was an avid golfer, proudly achieving five holes-in-one. A lover of animals, he also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and sharing his appreciation of nature with family and friends. Lester was preceded in death by his daughter, Carolyn H. Fort; his great grandson, Ryan Rabon; and his great-great grandson, Beau Rabon. He was formerly married to the late Patricia Seigler Hiers.
