Dorothy Harter Obituary

HARTER, Dorothy HAMPTON - Mrs. Dorothy Wright Harter, formerly of Hampton, SC died Saturday, August 18, 2007 at the National Health Care in Anderson, SC. She was 83. Born on February 15, 1924 in Atlanta, GA, she was the daughter of the late Otis J. Wright and Grace Holt Wright. She was married for 50 years to the late Dr. Newman Wendell Harter of Hampton and was a Dental Assistant with her husband's practice in Hampton until 1993. Mrs. Harter was a member of Varnville First Baptist Church. She is survived by her sons, Dr. Newman Wendell Harter, Jr. and wife Carol of Anderson, SC and Dr. Mark Richard Harter and wife Priscilla of Blowing Rock, NC. There are five grandchildren: Michelle Harter, Dr. Tradd Harter, Kendell H. Wood, Daniel Harter, J.D. and Matthew Harter and six great grandchildren: Karlena Harter, Kenneth Harter, William Ethan Harter, Connor Wood, Gavin Harter and Aidan Harter. Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 23, 2007 at 2 PM in the chapel of Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home, 300 Mulberry St., Hampton, SC with burial following in the Hampton Cemetery.
