Dorothy Collins Obituary

Dorothy Collins Cross, SC - Dorothy "Dot" Groves Grooms Collins, 87, of Cross, SC, a former employee of GARCO, died Thursday morning in a Mt. Pleasant nursing home. Her funeral will be 1:30 PM Saturday afternoon, July 21, 2018, at the graveside in Carolina Memorial Park, N. Charleston. Interment will follow, directed by DIAL-MURRAY FUNERAL HOME, MONCKS CORNER. Mrs. Collins was born January 24, 1931, in Charleston, SC, a daughter of Kisler Martin Groves and Gladys Benton Groves Pressley. She enjoyed working crossword puzzles, putting puzzles together, fishing, crocheting, and gardening and canning. Mrs. Collins was a member of the Moncks Corner Church of God, and was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Marchese; a son, Steve Collins; a grandson, Jason Dunn; and a granddaughter, Carrie Driggers. Surviving are, two daughters, Gladys L. Heitzler of Goose Creek, and Dana Johnson and her husband, Jeff, of Pimlico; two sons, John "Johnny" Grooms, Jr., and his wife, Beth, of Ft. Myers, FL, and Charles M. "Chuck" Grooms and his wife, Lynn, of Goose Creek; sixteen grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
