Donna Kinsey CHARLESTON - Donna A. Kinsey, 77, of Charleston, SC, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, December 5, 2024. Her funeral mass will be held on Monday, December 16, 2024, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 127 St. Philip Street, at 10:00 am. Donna was born to the late Isabel E. Broughton and Dr. Theodore E. Atkinson on May 28, 1947. Donna was a socialite all throughout her life. Her many friendships led her to her husband, Matthew, whom she married in 1966. To this union were born two children: Lisa and Nelson. Following college, she began her lifelong career of teaching. She taught for over 30 years, most notably at C.E. Williams Middle, where she was known as the "little no-nonsense Mrs. Kinsey". Donna, known as "Nana" by her family, was the glue that held everyone together. She was small but loved big. She was an avid reader, gardener and loved the arts. Donna was preceded in death by her husband, Matthew. She leaves to cherish her memories: two children, eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
