Delores Kimber Obituary

Delores Frierson Kimber Charleston - The family and friends of the late Ms. Delores F. Kimber will celebrate her life on Saturday, August 28, 2021, at 11:00am at Parkside at Historic St. Barnabas Church - 45 Moultrie Street, Charleston, SC 29403. She graduated from Burke High School class of 1953 and retired after 38 years of service from CCSD as the secretary of Liberty Hill and James Simons Elementary. She was one of the first African-Americans to become a member of St. Barnabas Lutheran Church in the 1980's. After retiring, served as the Program Director and mentor in Every Child Can Read Program and the After School Tutoring Program at James Simons. Ms. Kimber is survived by her daughter, Pierra Richardson-Frierson, a niece: Amena Rogers, nephew: Mark Hill. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Frierson, Sr., John H. Wesley and Sallie F. Wesley. Siblings: Henry Frierson, Jr., Lorraine Franklin, Helen Wilson, Theodore Anthony, Jr., Joan Yellock, Daniel Hill and William Hill.
