David Strickland Obituary

STRICKLAND, David WALTERBORO - Mr. David Anderson "Andy" Strickland, husband of Julie Fishburne Strickland, died Friday morning at Colleton Medical Center in Walterboro. He was 67. Mr. Strickland was born in Smoaks September 21, 1941 a son of the late John Parlor Strickland and Verna Priester Strickland Black. He was a graduate of Clemson University, and was a retired loan officer Nations Bank and the Bank of Walterboro. Andy was a member of the Bethel United Methodist Church in Walterboro, and for many years was an active member of the Civitans. He was also an avid gardener. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, David Fripp Strickland, of Walterboro, and a daughter, Ashley Strickland Stanley, and her husband Steve Franklin Stanley Jr., of Walterboro. He has two grandchildren, Kenzy and Campbell Stanley, as well as two brothers, J.P. Strickland, of Walterboro, and Benjamin W. Strickland, of Smoaks. Graveside funeral services will be held Monday morning at 11:00 in the Live Oak Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday evening from 6-8 PM at the funeral home. Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to either the Live Oak Cemetery, or to the Bethel United Methodist Church. Mrs Strickland, I was so sorry to hear
about Andy. I had not seen him in quite a few years, but kept up with him through my Mom Martha Adkins. I grew up down the Road from him, and his family.Mr. Parlor use to take me to school. My Mom and I send our condolences.
