Daphne Bostwick Obituary

Daphne Bostwick BEDFORD, NY - Daphne B. died of a Seizure Disorder Sept. 16, 2025. Beloved daughter of James F C Bostwick, Jr. & Susan W. Bostwick. Daphne attended The Reach/Life Program at The College of Charleston 2012-2015, where she experienced tremendous personal growth & great joy in her college life. Daphne pursued her interests in Sociology & sports, later living in Charleston in her own apartment with the support of a loving Mentor, Jamal, who encouraged Daphne's interest in Tennis. Daphne became a Special Olympics Tennis Player in Charleston winning medals for her Tennis Achievements. She adored animals and adopted a kitten she named Charleston. Daphne built her tennis skills with Training Sessions at Colonial Lake Public Courts, walking distance from her apartment above J&W Grocery downtown Charleston. Embracing a low IQ disability, Daphne developed Emotional Intelligence & evolved to become an excellent conversationalist offering smart & unique perspectives. Daphne was so well received by her Charleston Tennis Teammates, she often returned from New York to participate in tennis invitational tournaments. Daphne found joy in Life, The College of Charleston Reach Program served as her Platform for Independent Living.
