I knew Danny and his family for some time, as I lived next door to him on Keats Road in East Oak Forest in Charleston. I was his daughter Joanne's (Nina) age. My father, Warren Sr., and Danny were good friends. I will certainly miss him, the memories, and his wonderful smile.

Dear Norman,
Please accept my deepest sympathy on the death of your brother Danny. He was such a great guy. I was honored to have his friendship, encouragement, and support. Danny was one of those people where you were excited when you saw him in a crowd and knew you would have a chance to say hello. He was so positive, friendly, and kind.
Please express to your family my sympathy for them.
Most sincerely yours,
Joe Riley

I am so very sorry for Mr. Danny's passing. I met Mr. Berlinsky when my therapy dog, a yellow Labrador and I visited with him and Sissy. He was such an interesting man and told such stories! We would chat and he would share snacks with Zack and exclaim often that He is a gorgeous dog! I always looked forward to my visits with him and he was one of my very favorite people.
With deepest sympathy and condolences to the family and friends,
Brenda Hockensmith and Zack

My condolences to the whole family. In1980, I fought in a toughman contest at County Hall on King Street. Mr. Berlinsky was the ring referee for our contests. After losing by a decision in the semi-finals, I was feeling dejected. Mr. Berlinsky approached me and said some encouraging words to me about the spirit of competition and immediately lifted my spirits. This unsolicited kindness may not have seemed like a big deal to many at that time but I never forgot it. For several years afterward whenever I saw him in public I always reminded him of that evening and he would just smile. It has been many years since I encountered Mr. Berlinsky but I will always remember that single uplifting moment .
