Dana, was always the brightest light in the room and would always leave you with a smile with his unique sense of humor. He was a good son, husband and father and I´ll miss him the rest of my days. While Dana is no longer here he is forever with us in our hearts and memories. Dana was well known for his random acts of kindness for others and in his memory I´d ask others to do the same and #LiveLikeDana!

Dana always gave off a great vibe being around him, sharing his warm smile. Having him in our family was a great blessing to us all.

He had a way of connecting with people that was almost magical - he never met a stranger, even at a young age.
Dana was 4 yrs old when we had a family get together at what he called "Nana´s cabin in Virginia", (actually a circa 1985 faux Colonial in Reston VA). We got tickets for a Children´s Play at the Kennedy Center. Getting everyone ready and out the door along with the awful traffic, we arrived later that planned. There was a long line at the Pickup Window.
"Welcome to the Kennedy Center, how can I help you?" An older lady, she look a little stressed. "Pick me up Nana, I want to see." I picked Dana up and he stuck his hand through the hole in the glass window. "Hi, my name is Dana, what´s your name?" She shook his hand and thus the conversation started. "What is that?", "Where do you live?" " I´m here at Nana´s cabin in Virginia....", "I live in South Carolina", " Oh, I love it there....", she said.
The line was getting longer... perhaps we should move on? She smiled and said, "Oh, I enjoy talking to you and I hope you enjoy the play."
"Are you going to see the play too?" She gave a little chuckle, "No, but maybe one day I will."
Dana stuck his hand through the the hole in the window and they shook hands again, "I hope you do too. Bye."
I expected to see some nasty looks from the people in the line behind us, but there were none. Overhearing the the conversation between the older lady and the little boy who took the time and interest in a stranger in the booth was magical.
I now live in California, but I will always be Dana´s Nana in the Cabin in Virginia, and I will love him forever. Nana
