Dale Morris Obituary

Pittsburgh- July 13, 1985 on our way to watch Live Aid with his bestie Guy.

Dale and I were besties during our USAF assignment in the Netherlands. We didn't work together per se due to different career fields. We shared many beers and adventures together.

I'm so proud he yet considered me a friend 41 years after our NL assignment ended. He was the best friend anyone could ever hope to have.

Am even prouder of his life's work. He said several times in the past 5 years that he hoped to leave the world in a better place by his efforts. New Orleans, Norfolk, Va and Charleston certainly are more livable now.

My father died in December. It was rough to lose him but there have been few tears since. Now with the month late news of Dale leaving us physically, I can't stop crying...

Rest in peace my brother-in-arms.

Dale was a leader, a visionary and a friend. His career defined public service. His impact on the climate adaptation and community resilience practice was profound. He led efforts in Norfolk, New Orleans and Charleston to address the long term effects of climate change with creative ideas and a commitment to change through effective community engagement. He will be sorely missed.
