Charlie Griffin Obituary

Charlie Edward Griffin, Sr. MONCKS CORNER - A memorial for Charlie Edward Griffin, Sr., AKA Papa Griff, of Moncks Corner, SC, will be held Tuesday, May 18, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. at Steve Griffin's home. Charlie, son of John Daniel and Emma Griffin, born January 28, 1931, in Danville, VA, died at 4:20 a.m., Saturday, May 15, 2010. He served in the US Air Force which included a tour in the Korean War. He received an honorable discharge after meeting his term of enlistment of 7 years. Charlie then made his career as a machinist for General Dynamics & Kores Nordic until he retired in 1995. He is survived by his loving wife, Mildred H. Griffin of 58 years, four children; Charles, John, Steven and Regina; fifteen grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson. He was predeceased by one grandson. Condolences may be sent to the family at [email protected]. The Griffin family is being served by PALMETTO CREMATION SOCIETY, Charleston, SC.
