Charles Taylor Obituary

Charles Winston Taylor Summerville - Charles Winston Taylor, of Summerville, SC, went to be with the Lord on the 5th day of November, 2021. Charles was born in 1942 in Memphis, TN. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Margaret Landis Taylor; daughter, Wendy Michelle Taylor; brother-in-law, Jesse D. Landis and sister-in-law, Jean M. Landis; nephew, Michael W. Landis; and nieces, Dana Landis Biedrzycki and De'Ette Landis Binder. He was predeceased by his father, Ira Payne Taylor; mother, Kathleen Wingo Taylor; sister, Ann Anderson; and nephew, David Allen. In August 1964, Charles received from Louisiana Polytechnic Institute at Ruston, LA, School of Engineering, a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering and in August 1966, he received his Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering. While at Louisiana Polytechnic Institute, he was inducted into Phi Kappa Phi, Tau Beta Pi, and Pi Tau Sigma fraternities. He retired in 1997 as a programming analyst from Entergy Corporation of New Orleans, LA. While in New Orleans, he was ordained as a deacon at Oak Park Baptist Church, where he was a member for 30 years. Charlie loved to travel, play tennis, and build furniture. Memorial Services will be Tuesday afternoon, November 9, 2021 in Parks Funeral Home Chapel at 1:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Missions Fund at Summerville Baptist Church, Summerville, SC.
