PEORIA - Charles "Randy" Monroe, 64, of Peoria passed away at 11:40 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2015, at UnityPoint Health-Methodist.
He was born in Pekin on Sept. 10, 1950, to Minor K. and Daisy Helen (Glass) Monroe. He married Diane Gaillaert on Aug. 24, 1968.
Randy is survived by his wife and two sons, Charles (Renee) Monroe of Peoria and Jeff (Julie) Monroe of Mapleton; and five grandchildren, Michael, Brandon, Ashley, Kyle and Derek. Also surviving are one brother, Rex Monroe of Peoria; and one sister, Mary C. Durr (Bob) Henderson of Nevada.
Randy, an Army veteran, was an assembler at Caterpillar in East Peoria.
He was a member of the Bartonville VFW and American Legion, Masonic Joseph-Robbins Lodge.
There will be a celebration of life service held from 11 a.m. to 12 noon today, Aug. 7, at the Endsley-Sedgwick Funeral home in Bartonville, Ill.
Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association or American Diabetes Association.
