I worked for Charles as a pharmacy tech when I was a corpsman stationed at the Marine Corps Air Station in 1969. Charles was graceful enough and kind enough to allow me to work in his pharmacy on evenings and weekends from 1969 until 1972. I absolutely loved and admired the man. He taught me so much about rectitude and probity when such concepts were foreign to one so young as I was way back in 1969. I have carried Charles Aimar in my heart for so very many years. He was one of a kind in all of the ways that matter constructively and positively. I think of him so very often. My children know of him, as do my grandchildren . . . despite the fact that none of them have had the honor to have met him. In my pedestrian path of life, I think there is no greater testament to a man than to be one known and admired despite never having met face to face. I will never know that sort of honor. Anyway, Charles Aimar has been a guiding star in my life for over half a century. I know this is no surprise to those who might read these words, but, despite the loss of his passing, I think it's significant that his name is honored . . . even by one as remote and pedestrian as I. My condolences to all of his family and friends. I know you miss him dearly.

JEANNE, I WAS SO VERY FOND OF CHARLES. HE WAS A WARM AND WONDERFUL HUMAN BEING AND ALWAYS PUT OTHERS FIRST. I REMEMBER HIS KINDNESS TO MY MOTHER , GAY, WHEN SHE WAS ALIVE. BEAUFORT WILL NOT BE THE SAME WITH HIM NOT THERE WITH US WITH HIS GREAT SMILES AND HUGS . HE WAS REALLY "ONE OF A KIND". BABS PRICE

Dearest family and friends, I have just read your notes and am overwhelmed. There have been so many notes, cards and visitors and all with a story of how my dad helped them through some problems. He was the best father that anyone could have had, strict but always there in time of need. He taught us more about life than any schools or books could ever do and I hope that we can all reach at least 1/10th of what he was. I thank you all and will share all with Mom, Jeanne, Pam, Amelie and Charles. Please keep in touch. God Bless, Priscilla Aimar Trask

My grandmother, Betty Colleran, worked for Dr. Aimar for many years so my family got to know him very well. Every time I went to the pharmacy, he was always smiling and had some words of wisdom for that day. What a great sense of humor he had! I cannot even count the ways he helped my family and supported my grandmother over the years. Dr. Aimar will be sadly missed.

To Mrs. Aimar and Family,
I appreciated knowing Dr. Aimar and regret that I only knew him for ten years. It was my pleasure to assist him once at an SCV ball I was attending. I was wearing my U.S. Marine Corps Dress Blues and he asked me if I would mind helping him place him medals on his tuxedo. It meant a lot to me to assist a World War II Iwo Jima Marine Veteran place his medals. To the average person this might not have been an event to cherish. To me this was an honor and a privilege. Dr. Aimar was a pillar to the Beaufort community and the definition of Semper Fidelis. I pray that you will all find peace through this time.
Respectfully,
Jeffrey Holliday

Deanna and I were only in Beaufort 13 years, but in that time I relied on Charles Aimar a lot in all our Republcan activities. He never said "No" and was very supportive. Beaufort has lost a great man. Our sincere condolences to the Aimar family. Pat & Deanna Conners, Fairmount, PA

Dr. Charles was one of my first bosses, hiring me to work at Aimar's on Carteret Street when I was still in high school. Also a kind neighbor and fellow member of First Presbyterian Church. I will never forget some of the 4th of July covered dish cook-outs, and his kind, wise, and funny personality. He will be missed. Sending prayers and sympathy to all of you. Much love, Amy Basnett Daughtry

Charles & I go back to the early 60's, when i was State Party Chm. and was i nBeaufort helping him get the first Republican precincts organized. His drug stores suffered, but Beaifort became one of the Strongest GOP Counties.Upon my 1989 Dataw retriement, we were re-united and spent the next 20 years as close friends. He and his his wonderful family will be fore-ever in my memories. Having just lost my wife unexpectedly I can not be at St Helena's. My sympathy's to Jean & the family. GREG SHOREY

My heart bleeds for you on this sad occasion. Charles was the brother I never had & a dear, dear friend. I could always depend on him . During my visits to Beaufort, he would take me anywhere I wanted to go & was most generous at all times. One of the most memorable occasions was when we went flounder fishing at the "City of Savannah" wreck site: This is not a fish story, but we caught a fish ,literally, the size of a dining room table! At this time, I wish I could be there in person with all of you, but know that I am there in spirit. With love to Jeanne & kids- Cousin Arthur
