Cecelia Dailey Obituary

Cecelia Dailey CHARLESTON - Cecelia "Celie" Louise Walker Dailey, born March 27, 1958 in Aiken, SC, lost her battle with COPD at 5 PM on Halloween, 2025. She was the daughter of John Ward Walker and Pauline "Polly" Staub Galyon Walker, and stepmother Carolyn G. Walker. Celie attended Spring Valley High School in Columbia, SC, Mississippi State College, and Midlands Tech, where she received her Associate's Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology. She started her career at Charleston Naval Shipyard, and after base closure, was hired by Milcom as an AutoCAD operator. She was a superstar draftsman who wrote scripts to improve the efficiency of her work and was revered by her colleagues for her expertise and enthusiasm. In 2014, she took off to work in solar energy at SunEdison in Denver, CO. She concluded her career at Indus Technology back home in Charleston, SC. Celie loved baking cakes, especially for birthdays, and live music, especially excellent guitarists. She was an avid reader of science fiction, member of Mensa, plant lover, and patron of the arts. Celie was independent, kind-hearted, and never met a stranger. She was a firecracker and a loyal friend. She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Polly Walker, stepmother, Carolyn, and longtime partner, Charles "Chuck" Paul Bigbee, Jr. She is survived by her daughter, Cecelia Naomi Dailey, son, James Walker Dailey (Shree Hickman), black cat, Bella, father of her children, George P.
