Carol Ann Sullivan
Summerville - Carol Ann Sullivan, born October 23, 1937, in Bayonne, New Jersey, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family. She was the beloved daughter of the late John Mahon and Eileen Mahon. Carol was the devoted wife of Robert "Bob" E. Sullivan, with whom she shared 65 wonderful years of marriage. Carol earned her Master's degree in Special Education and dedicated her career to teaching, retiring after many years of service. Her commitment to education extended beyond the classroom, as she coauthored a textbook focused on teaching history to students with special needs. Carol was outgoing and full of life. She loved staying active and social, enjoying tennis, golfing, and playing bridge with friends. Above all else, her grandchildren were her greatest joy and highest priority. She cherished every moment spent with them and deeply loved her entire family. A woman of strong faith, Carol was a faithful member of St. Theresa Catholic Church and St. John the Beloved Catholic Church in Summerville, South Carolina. She is survived by her loving husband, Bob Sullivan; her children: Susan Ann Hund (Erik), Laura Elizabeth Whalen (Kevin), Debra Ellen Yanchik (Brian), Patricia Ann Weeg (James); her grandchildren: Christian Hund (Jennifer), Alex Hund, Madelyn Hund, Zachary Whalen (Paige), John Whalen, Abigail Whalen, Robert Yanchik, Amy Yanchik, and Jordan Kneece (Matt); her two beloved great grandchildren: Sean and Audrey Kneece; as well as numerous beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, John Mahon.

We will always remember first arriving in the town of Summerville some 20+ years ago. Carol was one of the first to greet and embrace my family.. Despite my wife´s newbie status in the sport of golf she was just so very encouraging to my wife in joining the ladies weekly golf outings...her stories about bringing up the kids were always so relatable, fun, and enjoyable to listen to...and when she talked of the grandkids it was always with either a real giggle or shear pride...her memory is strongly embedded in our fondest memories of our time in the area. We are so sorry to hear of the loss of such a really sweet lady. We pray for her peace and the comfort of her family. Cathy, Rick & Olivia Minassian

I always loved seeing her at band concerts. She was the kids´ biggest fan and I was fortunate to know her through them, Sue, and Erik. Sending so much love to you all today and always.

Carol had a way to always make me feel special. Her face would light up when she saw me and used my name. She will be missed.
