Billy Stafford JOHNS ISLAND - Billy Arnold Stafford, 86, of Johns Island, husband of Gail Y. Stafford, entered into eternal rest on October 5, 2013. Billy was born on December 12, 1926 in Hinesville, Georgia, a son of the late Paul D. and Mary Arnold Stafford. He was self employed as a carpenter, enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening; He was most proud of his service to our country in the United States Navy during World War II, serving on the USS Hydrus. Billy is survived by his wife of 54 years; his children, Sherry Bevins and her husband George, Perry Stafford and Gordon Stafford and his wife Cathy. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Billy was preceded in death by his daughter, Brenda Odum, his brother, Paul Stafford, Jr. and his sister Oleta Bunn. The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. Billy Arnold Stafford are invited to a gathering of friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Thursday, October 10, 2013 at the James A.
