Debbie,
Billy was many things to me to me in the years since he displaced me as the baby of the family 59 years ago. Babies together, he was, of course, my first playmate! He has been my pesky little brother, my teenaged antagonist, my wartime hero (as well as my hero for all seasons), my dependable brother and ally in holding the family together (with our 30-year-long pact to host the family twice a year), my trusted friend and confidant in times of personal crises, and the husband of my beloved sister (sisters-in-love until we die!)
I cannot find words to describe how much I loved my brother or how much I will miss him. Thank you for loving him and being his soul partner, wife, and the mother of his children!
Please know that I am always here for you and the children.

I was stationed with Billy Joe and Andy Anderson years ago in the navy. They were great guys to be around. I have quite a few military memories of Billy Joe. I frequently saw him at work in Moncks Corner. I last saw Billy at the VA about 7 weeks ago. He talked of his family and seemed at piece. Debbie, I am sorry for your loss. In the lost of your husband
With God On your Side, You Never Have to Be Alone -Linda E. Knight
Sometimes life sends us changes we've never contemplated, problems we'd just as soon do without, and inconveniences that we'd rather not have to deal with. It can feel as if we are wandering in a barren desert.
It's during these "desert" experiences of our lives that God, in all his faithfulness, opens up his heaart.
He quenches our thirsty souls, revives our parched hearts, and leads us to a higher place where peace and joy and love will be ours forever.
On all the long journeys your life leads you on, please remember...
you'll never walk alone.
For you and your family we will be praying

Aunt Debbie, JJ, Jessica, and Shelley – My heart aches along side yours.
I will miss Uncle Billy so much. He and my daddy are so alike in being soft-hearted “teddy bears” disguised as great, big, tough-looking men. Uncle Billy wasn’t ever afraid to speak his mind and stand up for what he believed. When I was still living at home with my parents, I loved it when Uncle Billy would “surprise” visit us. I always thought he was crazy for riding to Georgia on his motorcycle with no helmet on his head! I will cherish every single New Year’s Day at his and Aunt Debbie’s home and also the trips I would take with Daddy to their house so he and Uncle Billy could exchange the “junk” they would find and turn into something valuable. I will never forget how Uncle Billy shyly came into the room when we were getting ready for Jess’s wedding and told all of us girls how pretty we were that day. He has left a hole in my heart, but I am glad that he is no longer suffering. May you walk with angels, Uncle Billy.

I have come across this in the Augusta Chronicle. If this is the same Billy Joe Johnson that was stationed in Puerto Rico in late 70's/early 80's and active at the stables, the Eppert family extends our prayers to your family. We have many fond memories of you all. We are so sorry to hear of your loss.

Billy was a much loved brother-in-law. He dearly loved his family and enjoyed so very much getting together for a delicious meal and great fellowship. There are many memories I will always cherish about him. One thing that stands out is how much he loved for me to prepare home grown, creamed corn when we gathered to share a meal. Billy never failed to give me a hug when welcoming me to his home. I will miss him greatly. Billy will remain alive in my heart and in the hearts of all who loved him.
God's Grace and Peace be with the family.
Your sister-in-love, Sherrie Johnson
