Bernard Clark Obituary

Bernard Wayne Clark CHARLESTON - Bernard Wayne Clark had a heart full of Jesus. Despite his suffering, that never changed. There's no doubt that he's standing by His side now with a new set of lungs and a glass of wine. Wayne was a loving husband, father, son, brother, grandfather, and friend. He left us to go home on March 7th, 2023. He was born on July 31st, 1947, to Bernard M. Tanner and John H. Clark. He was a brother to Charlene Holder and Joseph Barnett. He lived in Charleston, South Carolina, with his caring wife and right hand, Katherine J. Clark. Together they had two children: Freddie and Tricia (and son-in-law, Bubba). He was a grandfather to Aurelia, Nate, and Katelyn. All of whom loved him deeply and stuck by his side till the end. Wayne loved spending time in his tackle shop and sharing God's word with his customers. He loved learning about fish and helping others catch them. He'd also spend time in his yard or greenhouse, making them look beautiful. If he had the remote, the TV was either on gunsmoke or church, with the volume on full blast. He loved watching old cartoons with his grandchildren too. However, he spent most of his time with God, while reading his Bible. Wayne is healthy, happy, and home now, wrapped in our Father's arms without a worry because he knows God will give us the comfort we need. One of His favorite verses was: "So don't worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today's trouble is enough for today," Matthew 6:34. His funeral service is scheduled for 10:00 am on Friday, March 10th, 2023, at the J Henry Stuhr, Inc. West Ashley Chapel. The chapel is located at 3360 Glenn McConnell Pkwy., Charleston, SC, 29414. The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 9th, 2023, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm in the West Ashley Chapel.
