Benjamin Belaustegui Obituary

Benjamin Oliver Belaustegui HOLLYWOOD, SC - Benjamin Oliver Belaustegui, 17 months, of Hollywood, SC, passed away on Sunday, May 7, 2017. He was born on Thursday, December 10, 2015, in Charleston, SC, son of Da-Niel Miller Belaustegui and Michael Belaustegui. Benjamin was "all boy", and loved to play in the yard, dig in the dirt and play with his dad's tools. Although he was an independent toddler, he liked to follow his sisters around, and was definitely a Mama's boy. His family will remember him as being a happy baby, who brought so much joy to all those in his family. Benjamin is a hero and will live on through his gifts to other children. He is predeceased by his grandmother, Cynthia Jennings Petty; great-grandparents: Harry Bruce Lippard, Betty Simpson Lippard and Louis Clayton Jennings. Benjamin will be deeply missed by his loving parents, Michael and Da-Niel and his sisters, Charlie and Reagan, all of Hollywood, SC; grandparents: Robert and Sandra Belaustegui; great-grandmother: Jacqueline Badger Morrison and her husband, Sonny Morrison; and aunts and uncles: Celese Miller, James Petty and Sarah Belaustegui. The family will receive friends on Friday, May 12, 2017 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home West Ashley Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, May 13, 2017, at Grace on the Ashley Baptist Church, 2014 Bees Ferry Road, Charleston, SC 29414, with Pastor Greg Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Live Oak Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be viewed or submitted online at www.mcalister-smith.com. Arrangements have been entrusted to McALISTER-SMITH FUNERAL HOME WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 2501 Bees Ferry Road, Charleston, SC 29414, 843-722-8371. So sorry for your loss. May the God who "binds up the brokenhearted" and "comforts all who mourn" strengthen your family to cope and endure during this difficult time (Isaiah 61:1,2)

May the memories of Benjamin and the love of family surround you and give you strength in the days ahead.

and yet it differs not at heart
from the giant pine
that lives for a thousand years" Teitoku Matsunaga, Japanese Poet
